Sacred Heart Schools Network

Focus on Education in the Central Europe and the Islands Province of the Society of the Sacred Heart

Schools of our Networks in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Scotland, Malta and England have been getting together and sharing projects in recent months. Penpal letters, Acts of Kindness Projects and visits to conferences are among the ways we are linking and learning.

Our shared foundation stories are our common roots. With the recent publication of the Philosophy of Sacred Heart Education “Sophie’s Gift:  Our Call to the Future” we find ourselves sharing themes and practice.

Along with student level projects we have created a web of educator interactions. Staff have visited Joigny, followed up with online reflections in spirituality and attended one another’s conferences.

Recent visits have included participation in Goals Co-ordinator meetings in England and Ireland along with Headteacher meetings in Ireland, England and Austria.

Network representatives are also members of the European Coreteam, which includes a wider European family, adding Spain, France, Italy, Belgium and Poland to our range.

Within the CEI Province an Education Group of Network Co-ordinators along with members of the Society delve into aspects of the life and work of Sacred Heart educators. Education was St Madeleine Sophie’s realm, her way of sharing the love of God.

As lay educators we are honoured to continue the vision and mission of our foundress.
