In line with the goal of character, the Year 3s decided to go to St. James Cavalier, centre for creativity. Here, we all explored a number of interesting activities and challenges promoting cooperation, communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills. The girls were engaged and really enjoyed the team-building games. Two of the activities were:
1. If you build it ...
Students were given equal amounts of: dried spaghetti, tape and play dough. The challenge was to build the tallest, structurally-sound castle.
2. Save the egg ...
This activity got a little messy. Teams had to work together to find a way to “save” the egg by using cotton wool, a wooden loop, cardboard paper, plastic and an elastic band. This activity was all about finding the perfect way of wrapping the egg and keeping it whole for when it dropped from a specific height.
